Question
Dear Mr. Nemy,

Following up to the response (pasted below) you sent me back in July after your visit to the '06 Act One Summer Writing Program.  I have a script I would like to send you soon.  I am currently making revisions to the first draft and will have it ready within the next couple weeks.

Before sending it, I wanted to confirm your interest in receiving the script and make one (very significant) additional request.  In addition to screenwriting my hope is to become a feature director.  I have written, directed and edited several short films and written eight feature screenplays.  At this point, I would like to shadow some feature directors to observe how they work.  I've read several books on the subject but I feel I need to see and learn how professional directors work on-set, in pre-production and post.  I know you're fairly well connected.  Is there any way you can help me with this?  I will not get in the way.  I simply want to observe.

Best regards,
Michael Moreland

p.s. I tried sending this message to your atp@adelphia.net email and it was returned.  Please let me know if there is another email you would prefer me to use.

Michael,

Thanks for sharing a little bit about yourself with me.

When you think you have your script ready, send it to me and I'll give it a read
and we'll go from there.

Best,

Phil

Answer
Michael,

Thanks for your note. Sure, I'd be happy to read your script. It might take me a while to actually get the time to read it, but I'll add it to my stack of 8 I have yet to read. You can email it to me at pnatp@sbcglobal.net. That's my office email address.

As far as feature directors to shadow, that's a toughy. That's not a common practice in the feature world. It is OFTEN done in the sitcom world. I'll have to think about that and see if anything comes to mind.

I'll look for your email.

Phil
