Question
I am a 21 year old male, I have been around stage theatre most of my life
both the technical and acting aspects. I am curious about a couple of things.
One if 21 is a bit older to begin seeking a career in the acting business? I
have begun looking for schooling opportunities in and around the LA area
(i.e. NYFA, Cal Arts, etc...) I would just like a professional opinion as to what
the schools with the best reputations might be. Lastly as I am in college right
now and am thus not well off financially. Do you know of any possible
scholarships that might help, or even any "bargain" schools that don't
sacrifice the quality. Any information is very much appreciated. Thank you
very much.

Hey, Aaron,  21 is not too late to start preparing for a career in acting. Your maturity should put you ahead of the younger set who are all looking for the magic website to make them stars.  I think college and many acting academies are a waste of time and money. What college are you in?  What is your major?  What is your expected date of graduation? Maybe you can start right where you are.  You need acting experience, not classes.  Professional classes are more to get you inside the profession rather than to teach you to act.  You don't learn to act in a class or at a college, you learn to act by acting.  So answer my questions at kencosp@aol.com and we will see what we can do for you.  Doc
