Question
Hi,
I have made 5 short films, different genre; horror, drama, comedy. and have used video, super 8, and 16 mm. What are other ways of marketing besides the film festivals? I have them all as a package on one DVD.

Answer
Marketing a film depends on whereabouts you are, and how old.

Different centres have different off-the-radar possibilities. It's really up to you to do your research face to face.

Start with local film-maker groups and organisations, film schools, colleges. Go where the filmmakers are.

Find a local cause. Offer to make a film to promote the cause, or help  it achieve its ends.

Go to local cable: they often have an outlet for their viewing audience to show their stuff. It'll be better for them than another boring brownie receipe from Nora Nash's kitchen.

Hope this started your nose a-sniffing.
