Question
I have decided to major in film in college, but I have no prior experience. Is that bad? And for the sake of money, I decided to attend the film school at UT Austin. Do you have any information regarding the quality of the education at UT? And what comes after film school?
Thanks.

Answer
To my knowledge UT at Austin is a very fine school and the film school should be of quality.  One of my students did graduate work at UT and is an outstanding college professor himself.  After film school, you can try to get a job in the industry or make independent films.  Hopefully, the UT film school will include instruction in how to get a job, if it does not, complain loudly.  Best wishes, Doc
