Question
QUESTION: I have a question. so i was thinking about starting a prfessional Acting career but i need some help. What is a better place to get an agent, John RObert Powers, Barbizon or Just a regular Agency?
please help! =]

ANSWER: Steph,

Thanks for writing. If it were me, I'd rather be represented by a legitimate talent agency than the other two. When I think of John Robert Powers and Barbizon, I think of modeling agencies, not talent agencies who handle primarily actors.

Hope this helps.

QUESTION: So it would be better to go to a regular Talent Agency?
Do you recomened any good ones in the Southern California area?

ANSWER: Steph,

If you want a career as an actor, better to be represented by a legitimate talent agency rather than a modeling agency. If you want to be a model, better to be represented by a modeling agency than a talent agency.

Since I don't know your talent, I cannot recommend you to any agencies.

Good luck!

Answer
Steph,

Since you're just starting out, you're probably not going to have access to the best agencies in Los Angeles. Quite frankly, the bigger better agencies shouldn't take you on anyway. You need to develop your work, build a reputation for yourself - that's whay will attract the bigger, better agencies who can get you $$$$ jobs.

Start with an agency who is smaller that is willing to take on new, inexperienced actors like yourself.
