I am trying to help a youngster get into modeling. She has a head shot.  What kind of information should go into her cover letter to a modeling agency?

If she is old enough to have measurements (such as a bra size) then you would include all of her stats - height, measurements (bust, waist, hips), hair color, eye color.

You would also want to include a brief paragraph about her - perhaps she's an A student, sings, or has some other interesting thing that might make her stand out from the competition.

Don't forget all her contact info, including postal mail, email, home phone, cell phone and a webpage if she has her own.

If she is shooting with a particular photographer or photographers to get a modeling composite card made, mention that too, and when it might be available.

If the whole thing is less than a page, chances are the agent will read it.  If they are interested in her look, they will contact her - usually within a few weeks.
