Question
I am new to the modeling career field and was wondering if you could help me is describing what kind of questions would be asked in an interview for a modeling job and what are good answers to respond with?

Thanks

Answer
It really depends on what the job entails.  For runway, they may ask you to walk, ask to see your book, and confirm your measurements.  Print is often direct booked, meaning there are no interviews, your agent just tells you what you're going to do, and where/when to show up.  If there is a particular skill they are looking for, they usually ask your agent, first.  Promotional modeling is one of the only types of modeling where they are interested in what type of personality and experience you have, since you are dealing directly with the public.  In any case, answering honestly is a good idea.  If they ask you if you're comfortable with animals, don't say you are if you're not--next thing you know you'll find yourself in a bikini wrapped in a live snake doing a print ad for PETA or something, and they don't care if you're not into pythons once the shoot is underway.  That's not entirely an exaggeration, but for the most part-you're not usually asked to attend an interview, as most types of modeling is about the look alone.
Good luck to you,

I can answer questions from those looking to get into the fashion or commercial modeling industry. Specifically, the requirements, what is needed, how to find an agent, what they look for, how to avoid scams, the difference between what a commercial model does, and a fashion model, would travel/relocation be required, what is on a comp card and in your portfolio.

Experience

Both my acting and modeling resume/portfolio is available online on my website. I am a member of the Screen Actors Guild, and also have available my actor's demo reel and voice-over demo online. I founded both the Florida-Models.com and Florida-Actors.com websites, which provide free modeling and acting info to the public. I have moved into directing, producing and screenwriting - and have won awards for my writing. I have worked in the industry as both a model and actress in Florida, New York City and Los Angeles until October 2007. I now reside in Europe.
