Question Hi. I'm Melissa. I know you've probably had kids asking you if there are any auditions for the Disney Channel, and that's kinda what I'm asking you. I've decided that I want to do acting. I have no experience but I did do one play for my school and little ones for my family. I'm only 13. I REALLY want to be part of the Disney Channel. I would give anything for it. But I just don't know how. I've been looking around for auditions, but couldn't find anything. I've noticed that most answers say I need an agent. Well my parents can't afford one, and I haven't told them about me wanting to be an actress. I want that to be a little secret, because I'm afraid they'll laugh in my face. Usually kids my age say they want to be famous when they're older. but I don't care about being famous. I want to act. Do you have any suggestions or know of any auditions??
Answer Melissa,
Thanks for writing. As I've told the other teens your age, I don't work for The Disney Channel, so I don't know when and where they hold their auditions. My guess is that when they have a show they need to cast, they hold auditions in Los Angeles where the Disney Channel is located.
Without having an agent, it's almost impossible to get an audition. But never say never! If you want to know more about their audition process, why not call them and ask them? The main number to the Disney Studios in Burbank is 818-560-1000. Call and ask to be transferred to the Disney Channel Casting Department. When you get them, tell them you want to know their procedures for auditions so you can submit your headshot to them.
