Question
Hi I would like to know how hard is it to obtain a SAG card? Also, I would like to know if you work as a spokesmodel on a game show on what basis do you get paid?

Answer
Beata,

Thanks for writing. Let me answer your first question this way: if it was easy to get a SAG card, don't you think everyone would have one? Not only is it not easy to get one, it's also not cheap to join the union either. If you read the section for ACTORS in my book, GET A REEL JOB, I offer a number of ideas on how one can go about getting their SAG card. You can find my book at www.reeljob.net or at www.amazon.com.

As far as working as a spokesmodel, unless you are a well known model, you will be paid a union rate as a "daily performer" assuming the production is a union production. The SAG daily rate for a performer is $737. Sometimes you are paid as a "weekly performer" and in that case you would be paid $2,557 per week. If the production falls under an AFTRA contract, and the production is a 1/2 hour non-dramatic program, then you'd be paid about $813/day.

Hope  this helps. Good luck!

Phil
