HI KITTY, HOW ARE YOU. I HAVE A QUESTION ABOUT MY 5 Y.O. DAUGHTER. I'M TRYING TO GET HER INTO MODELING AND ACTING. MY PROBLEM IS HOW DOES ANYONE FROM VA GET STARTED? I KNOW I NEED AN AGENT OR AGENCY, BUT WHERE I'M FROM ITS NOT ONE HERE. CAN YOU NAME A LEGIT AGENCY OR AT LEAST PENPOINT ME IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION.

It might be a commute, but they are the closest I know of to you.  Those are all Screen Actor's Guild agencies, and two of them are listed as also having commercial print modeling divisions as well.  Of course you'll have to call and check to see if they represent someone of your daughter's age, if they are looking for new faces, and what they'll need for consideration for representation.  Also, if they can't help you, be sure to ask if they can recommend another agency who might be a better fit.  A referral can be a terrific way to find a good agency.

I founded both the Florida-Models.com and Florida-Actors.com websites, which provide free modeling and acting info to the public. I have moved into directing, producing and screenwriting - and have won awards for my writing. I have worked in the industry as both a model and actress in Florida, New York City and Los Angeles until October 2007. I now reside in Europe.
