I am interested in pursuing a career as a talent/model agent. Where can I take training?

Answer
The majority of talent agents (at least in LA) intern first before they become agents, particularly with the bigger agencies.  Many intern and work their way up the ranks until they leave to start their own agency.  Most of the agencies will be able to give you class credit while you learn, especially if you're studying public relations, business management or something similar.  Also, adult learning centers offer seminars or brief courses on becoming a model or talent agent.  You may also want to check with the state you're in.  Some states regulate talent agencies, and have specific requirements regarding licensing, background checks, bonds, etc. - and they may also be able to recommend someone to you as well.  Ideally, though - you would want to work first for another agency to gain hands-on experience while you build your list of industry contacts.  If you already have some related experience, you can certainly apply for a paid position rather than going through the intern route.
