Careers: Acting, Performing, Directing/Working for the Disney Channel

Question
I have wanted to become an actor since I was 8 years old. I have studied drama since then. Now I am 16 and I am currently in a performing arts school. My teachers admire my confidence and believe I can further my skills and abilitys.
At the moment I do not have an agent, however my mum is a television presenter for QVC so she has connections to agents and photographers. I am hoping to have an agent for September.
I was hoping you would know if the Disney Channel would employ someone of my status. Also would you be able to tell me how to audition for the Disney Channel(USA/UK). I am living in the UK so I'm sure my best chances would be to audition in the UK. However I believe Disney Channel USA would be better for me. Is there any possibility working in the USA? (If it helps I am going to America for a while at the start of January)
Replying via email would mean alot to me. Thankyou.

Answer
Phillip,

Thanks for writing. I don't see why the Disney Channel wouldn't hire someone of your status. Unfortunately, since I don't work for The Disney Channel, I honestly can't tell you how to go about working for them in the UK. You might try calling the Walt Disney Company's London office and asking them for information about auditioning for The DIsney Channel in the UK.

Good luck!

Phil
