I am an AllExpert volunteer in the Medical category, and my question is as follows: My Granddaughter (10) is a fascinating individual with a great deal of persona. (Not because she is family)! Her father is a very talented photographer, and Bryana (the child) has posed for photographs since she was born. Her dad made a CD with some shots of her which I would like to expose to a professional and get an honest opinion of how to pursue a career for this young lady. I do not consider her a raging beauty, but she has a congenial appearance, fantastic awareness of detail and expression. Her ability to precisely mimic an individual's body mechanics, verbal communication, and vocalization, is remarkable.
The question is: What path should I take in seeking an HONEST reconnoiter. I want to avoid scams, and profiteers. Sincerely: Lauren

Thanks for writing. I'm not sure what "career" you seek for her. If your desire is an acting career for her, photos on a CD are nice, but they won't be looked upon as professional, nor will it get her an audition.

Kids get cast in film, TV, commercials, etc. because they have a specific "look," often a cuteness. If the camera doesn't "like her" or she doesn't have that spark in front of the camera, then she won't have much of a career as a child actor.

However, if you seek a modeling career for her, then a CD of photos of her is a place to start.

Depending upon where you live in the USA, I would recommend that if SHE is truly interested in pursuing this, then get her into some acting classes, get her to a local casting director, and have both the acting teacher and casting director recommend a reputable local agent. If none of these people exist in the area where you live, then you'll need to consider moving to a major city that has them so that you can begin knocking on the doors and getting your granddaughter seen by the people who can help her.
