Answer
Varsha,

Thanks for writing. If you want to find an agent, simply sending a letter, headshot and resume may not do the trick. It's better to contact an agent when you are appearing in something such as a film, television show or play. Then you would send a note inviting them to watch the production (provide them with complimentary admission if necessary) and mention that you are seeking representation. Then ask for a meeting.

I wouldn't advise contacting them without being able to show them your work in advance.

For more information, read the section about Agents in my book, GET A REEL JOB which you can find at Amazon.com or through my European distributor, Gazelle Book Services, Ltd. in London. Also check the book's website at www.reeljob.net.

Hope this information helps.

Good luck,

Phil
