Question
Right now I am freelancing for MAC cosmetics, and I also used to work for Sephora. I have always played with make up and thought it would make an exciting career, so I got my make up license at Von Lee December of 2005. I think it would be a good idea to get an agent who can help me book jobs working as a make up artist. But how do I do that? HELP!

You may want to ask the Von Lee school for their recommendations - as an agency referral is a great way to be considered for representation.  You can also check with the IATSE union: www.iatse-intl.org (although they are more about film makeup, rather than modeling or event makeup.) Makeup Artist Magazine may provide some good info, although again this is more for film makeup rather than modeling or other types of makeup: http://www.makeupmag.com

You can also use your favorite search engine and type in makeup artists agencies.  I got this link which looks like a good resource:

There are also online resources where you can freelance - such as la411.com, mandy.com, onemodelplace.com, www.onetalentsource.com, www.goportfolio.com, as well as hundreds of other sites.
