Question
My dream has always been to be an actress - I have always been derailed at some point and ended up a teacher with three kids - Now I am 40 and thinking my chance has passed my by - am I too old to start pursuing a dream? I just read a comment that at 40 you are pretty much overlooked - but most movies I see have some sort of older women playing a part- don't get me wrong, I certainly don't look the 40+!  Most people are surprised I am 40 and I haven't had any surgery!

Answer
So if your DREAM has ALWAYS been to be an actress, then do something, ANYTHING about it.
Are you to old to get into the business...... YES, if you hsve no talent, NO if you do.
These over 40 year old actresses have probably been acting for more than 20 years, and have just now been able to get a role.
Depending on where you live, get involved in any and every local theatre company and indie film that you can.
Talk to your local agents and hopefully you can find an acting coach that is or was in the business and STUDY.
