Question
QUESTION: i really want to do modeling..like face modeling for magazines..but i don't know how to start out..because its hard for a teen to get out there you know?

ANSWER: Much of the modeling you are referring to is done by fashion models, most of whom started working as teens.  Few fashion modeling agencies will look at a new face if they are older than 22, and by the age of 30, all but a few select supermodels are able to work past the age of 30.  If you are a minimum height of 5'8 or 5'9, and around a size 4-6, then you can check into the fashion agencies in NYC.  Many of them have open calls, or you can mail in your information to them.  A good list of fashion agencies is: http://models.com/agencies/top/
You can use your favorite search engine to find the contact info/website for the agencies you are interested in, and also to find out what their requirements are from new faces (such as height/size/age).
Good luck to you,

QUESTION: actually i would like to be a face model..people tel me that i should because of my eyes n lips..what should i do about this? how do i find an agent?

Answer
The current top fashion agencies are listed at http://models.com/agencies/top
Follow the instructions on each agency's website for new faces, or contact them to find out what their requirements are for new models.  For example, DNA Models come up first on the list.  Their website is http://www.dnamodels.com/
Their phone number is 212-226-0080.  If you call during business hours you can ask what their requirements are for new models, and if you fit those requirements, if they have an open call or if they accept mailed in submissions for consideration.
Next on the list is IMG Models.  They have a much more comprehensive website: http://www.imgmodels.com/
that includes a section titled "become a model"
It has what their requirements are, as well as an online form to submit along with your photos for consideration.
You can just go down the list, use your favorite search engine to find the agency's website and contact them in the way they have provided.
Good luck to you,
~Kitty

I can answer questions from those looking to get into the fashion or commercial modeling industry. Specifically, the requirements, what is needed, how to find an agent, what they look for, how to avoid scams, the difference between what a commercial model does, and a fashion model, would travel/relocation be required, what is on a comp card and in your portfolio.

Experience

Both my acting and modeling resume/portfolio is available online on my website. I am a member of the Screen Actors Guild, and also have available my actor's demo reel and voice-over demo online. I founded both the Florida-Models.com and Florida-Actors.com websites, which provide free modeling and acting info to the public. I have moved into directing, producing and screenwriting - and have won awards for my writing. I have worked in the industry as both a model and actress in Florida, New York City and Los Angeles until October 2007. I now reside in Europe.
