Question
I would like to be a model, but i don't know how to start.
I am 13, slim and tall, and lots of people have said i have a good bone structure.
But my mom thinks you have to be well connected and she doesn't like the idea
any advice on how to start?

Unfortunately, as long as you are under age, you do need your parent's permission and support - but with a good agent, you do not need to be well connected.  Your agent will submit your information (photos or modeling composite card) to clients, and since you are hired based on what you look like, and not previous experience, training or personality, your best advocate is your agent.
You can get one of the modeling agency directories (available in your local library, bookstore or online, and on newsstands in Los Angeles and New York City.)  You will need to find the agencies closest to you who represent models of your age, and find out what they want to see from you for consideration.  
You and your mom can find out what the laws/regulations are in your state regarding model and talent agencies, which will help you when choosing the right agencies to submit your information to, and help you to avoid any scams.
