Question
what is the male model etiquette as far as "shaving "chest ,arms, legs ,underarm etc. not that I'm a very hairy guy to begin with but i am new to the modeling industry and  do have my first interview with an agency next week i want to give them a good  impression by being as  prepared as possible

Answer
While a lot of male models do not go as far as bodybuilders in terms of hair removal, one can see more definition in one's physique with less hair rather than more.  The most important thing is to be well-groomed.  If you choose to remove hair from any part of your body (save for perhaps the face) do not go out to an interview/go-see without making sure there's no stubble visible, and be extremely cautious if you choose to try a new method of hair removal just prior to an interview or go-see (or modeling job, for that matter).  The most important thing is to feel comfortable and project confidence.  If your market is primarily swimwear and underwear, hair reduction or removal before working might be required or requested, while if you're doing more commercial work, or suits and fine fashions that cover, it's probably not important at all.  Certainly you can ask your agent once you sign with them what type of modeling work they think you're best suited for, and what they'd advise you to do with your personal grooming.  They are there to advise and make sure you are the most marketable for the type of work they will be sending you out on.
Good luck to you,

I can answer questions from those looking to get into the fashion or commercial modeling industry. Specifically, the requirements, what is needed, how to find an agent, what they look for, how to avoid scams, the difference between what a commercial model does, and a fashion model, would travel/relocation be required, what is on a comp card and in your portfolio.

Experience

Both my acting and modeling resume/portfolio is available online on my website. I am a member of the Screen Actors Guild, and also have available my actor's demo reel and voice-over demo online. I founded both the Florida-Models.com and Florida-Actors.com websites, which provide free modeling and acting info to the public. I have moved into directing, producing and screenwriting - and have won awards for my writing. I have worked in the industry as both a model and actress in Florida, New York City and Los Angeles until October 2007. I now reside in Europe.
