Question
Is it possible to book a commercial modeling job with out  a modeling agent? If so where could I start?

Answer
It's possible to have an entire career without an agent - but not something I would recommend.  But, if one wanted to only work freelance, you certainly could.  There are numerous websites where you can list yourself as a model.  Some are pay sites, some are free sites, some a combination.  Those same websites also tend to have job listings as well.  You can submit your information via the Internet in the blink of an eye, or mail your comp card for consideration.  In my opinion, it's better to use a regional website (like Florida-Models.com or NYCastings.com) than a website that covers the US or world (like onemodelplace.com)  It's just easier I think to look at work opportunities just in your area, rather than sort through and see all the good stuff in another area far from you.  If you're really skilled at being able to tell the difference between legitimate modeling opportunities and scams, the Internet is a great place to find work without an agent.  Even sites like Craigslist.org have modeling opportunities all the time, and in larger markets, in abundance.  Again, not something I would recommend to beginners, or models with very little experience.  An agent is there to protect you, help guide your career, and of course get you work with safe, legitimate clients.  Absolutely worth the 10-20% cut they get.
Good luck to you,

I can answer questions from those looking to get into the fashion or commercial modeling industry. Specifically, the requirements, what is needed, how to find an agent, what they look for, how to avoid scams, the difference between what a commercial model does, and a fashion model, would travel/relocation be required, what is on a comp card and in your portfolio.

Experience

Both my acting and modeling resume/portfolio is available online on my website. I am a member of the Screen Actors Guild, and also have available my actor's demo reel and voice-over demo online. I founded both the Florida-Models.com and Florida-Actors.com websites, which provide free modeling and acting info to the public. I have moved into directing, producing and screenwriting - and have won awards for my writing. I have worked in the industry as both a model and actress in Florida, New York City and Los Angeles until October 2007. I now reside in Europe.
