Question
Hi, my name is Jorge, i'm 17 and i live in north carolina. I'm researching on whether i should become a director, an actor or a video game designer. I'm looking for information on film directing and acting because i really want to go into a career that would allow me to express my ideas. Thank you for your time.

Answer
Jorge,

Thanks for writing. You can find information about film directing and acting at your local bookstore or library. An excellent book about the craft of acting is one written by film director Sidney Lumet called MAKING MOVIES. It's a great read and you can learn a ton.

The best books I know for acting are written by Konstantin Stanislavski. He has three excellent books: AN ACTOR PREPARES, BUILDING A CHARACTER, CREATING A ROLE. Read them one after another and you'll learn everything you need to know about the basics of the craft of acting.

Hope this helps. Good luck!

Phil
