The first thing you want to do is ask yourself why you are afraid, after all you cannot become an actor if you do not participate in plays at school.  Perhaps you could get a friend to participate with you.  One reason acting is appealing to us is that it is fun, it is a form of play that we all have experienced as children.  Since it is fun, we ought to look forward to doing it again in a play or in a class.  I hope you enjoy participating soon.  Doc
