Question
I have wanted to be A model for as long as i can remember. My mom was only 4'11 but my dad is tall and my oldest brother is 6'3 so I always hoped i would be taller, but I am now 17 and only 5'1 and I am very scared that I will never be able to model because of my height...will I ever have any chance at all?? I really need some advice on this..please.....

Answer
You could consider commercial print modeling.  There's no height, age or size requirements for that, other than what's set by the individual agency.  There are quite a few books written on the subject of commercial print modeling, available in your local library, bookstore or online.  Some of them also contain an agency directory as well, if you decide that's a type of modeling you want to pursue.  Promotional modeling, swimsuit modeling and fitness modeling also aren't always height-based, and may also afford you opportunities to work as well.
Good luck to you,

I can answer questions from those looking to get into the fashion or commercial modeling industry. Specifically, the requirements, what is needed, how to find an agent, what they look for, how to avoid scams, the difference between what a commercial model does, and a fashion model, would travel/relocation be required, what is on a comp card and in your portfolio.

Experience

Both my acting and modeling resume/portfolio is available online on my website. I am a member of the Screen Actors Guild, and also have available my actor's demo reel and voice-over demo online. I founded both the Florida-Models.com and Florida-Actors.com websites, which provide free modeling and acting info to the public. I have moved into directing, producing and screenwriting - and have won awards for my writing. I have worked in the industry as both a model and actress in Florida, New York City and Los Angeles until October 2007. I now reside in Europe.
