Question
hi im 18 years old and for a while i've been interested in the acting scene, i dont have any experience and i would like to like to find out how/where to get started. I would like to start getting into doing tv commercials and then move up into acting on tv on local shows/series, then someday maybe onto the bigscreen. What/where do i need to start to make this happen, should i enroll for example at a school? like www.vfs.com (vancouver film school) and take it from there?

Answer
Hi, I wish I knew more about how it works in Canada.  If you were in the US I would know exactly what to tell you.  Does vfs have a curriculum in film acting?  If so, then go there, take it and learn beyond the classes how to break into the industry.  This is altogether different from what I would tell a student in the US and that would be to get some plays under your belt in amateur theatre, find out if you have any ability to act, then take a class or two at a professional school and complete a resume, get a good headshot and start fishing for an agent.  Might work there as well.  For more details, write me at kencosp@aol.com. I think the best thing for you to do is to find out if you have any ability. I would be delighted to go into more detail, Best Wishes, Doc
