QuestionQUESTION: How do i start tryi'n to become an actress and model? I've havn't tried everything i could yet, but everytime i try to sign up for an audition, its all just fakes and they give rip-offs, like i auditioned for Ralieg modeling NC. but it was just a rip off, and i 've searched through the computer but its not giving me all the info. i want... I would do anything just to get noticed. i've had very little experiance, by walking a runway and by tips. but i really want to become famous. Do you know how i can start off by this?? Cause ever since i was 8yrs. old i tryed to find an agent but its soo hard, and now i'm bout 14 still looking my hardest, soo hopefully this helps.
ANSWER: You can use one of the modeling agency and/or talent agency directories available in your local library, bookstore or online to locate agencies closest to you. The Screen Actors Guild website has a great list of agencies that are all legit and above-board. Many of the agencies listed there represent both actors and commercial print models. The website is www.SAG.org, then look under Resources on the right hand side, select Agent Information, and then Find A SAG Franchised Agent. In the top drop box, choose the location closest to you. You may have to commute a bit if you are not in a location that has agencies, but if you are - focus on the agencies on the list marked FS (full service). Those are agencies that have a commercial print division in addition to representing actors. Contact them, ask if they represent new talent of your age, and ask them what they need from you to be considered for representation. Sometimes they will ask you to mail in a headshot/resume, and/or a modeling composite card along with a cover letter, sometimes an agency will take appointments or have an open call for you to attend. Before you meet with a talent agent, be sure to ask if they are going to have you audition, and if so, if you need to have a monologue or something else prepared for them.
Good luck to you,

QUESTION: Thank you soo much....
I'm looki'n really forward on contacting these agents..
But i told my mom about all the info., but what if we don't have the money to sit there and do all these payments. or is there juss certain payments to pay.. like Pics.,agent cost., ect.
But again thank you....
AnswerYou will need professional photos. Perhaps you can work something out with your photographers, or approach one of the photography schools or classes in your area to see if there are photography students who could take the shots you need.
As for the agent, they only make money when you make money. They take a percentage of the money you earn through them (usually 10-20%).
Generally, I recommend taking acting classes at least in the type of acting you're most interested in doing, or an auditioning class. Models (other than promotional models) do not use resumes, so no classes or training is required or necessary.
So the only expense you have would be your headshot and modeling photos, and the cost to print/mail them to the agents you are interested in.
Good luck to you,
