Questioni would like to preform. I'm a singer, but i can act a little bit. i just need confidence. I'm taking acting lessons and i have been taking voice lessons since i was abut 7. and i don't mean to sound conceded but I'm an amazing singer and I'm looking for my big break
i would like to be on Broadway, but i would rather be recording and performing concerts.
i am looking for an agent, a good one, but its really hard.
do you have any advice?
AnswerYour current acting or singing coach should be the one to ask.
If they are any good at what they do they should also be "doing it" themselves.
A lot of coaches don't work in the business anymore (for some reason) and I always wonder how they can teach what they don't still do.
Look EVERYONE up on imdb.com or google them to make sure that you're not wasting your time with someone that really doesn't know or were never really in the business themselves.
Agents (good ones) are not hard to find, just hard to sign with one.
If you want to do Broadway then NY is the ONLY place to be.
However depending on where you live, is going to give you the local experience to prepare yourself for that GIGANTIC step into the BIG CITY.
I assume (or hope) that you've done something ie; plays, musicals, tv,film, commercials????
If not then you better start because agents (at least good ones) won't even see you, let alone sign you without something on your resume.
Keep studying and if you're are as good as you say you are then things will happen, just don't wait for them to, you've got to get out there and make them happen yourself.
