Question
QUESTION: is there a way were i can still audition for Disney if I'm in Texas if i can what can/should i do?i have been wanting to act for Disney all my life!!so i hope you can help me out...thanks!!
~Darren~

ANSWER: Darren,

Thanks for writing. You don't just audition for The Walt Disney Company. You need to be the right look, age, and talent for a part in a film or TV show they are casting. If you are, and you audition for the casting director, then you have a shot at being cast in the show.

Most times, film and TV shows for Disney are cast in Los Angeles, so if you're not in LA, you won't be considered. However, if you have an agent in Los Angeles, he may be able to get you an audition.

Hope this helps. Good luck!

QUESTION: how do i get a agent in L.A.?
ANSWER: Darren,

The best way to get an agent in Los Angeles is to appear in a showcase in LA and invite agents to see your work.

Another way would be to ask actors that you know who are represented by an agent in LA to make an introduction for you to their agent.

QUESTION: wow your relly helping me the the questions i want to know!!thanks!! but yea what do you mean showcase?is it like a play or something?and how would i invite a agent to the showcase?
ANSWER: Darren,

A showcase is usually an evening of scenes performed by a bunch of actors. The evening runs about an hour and is made up of 12-15 scenes from plays and films. They are performed by a group of actors in a theatre that the actors rent for the evening. Then they invite agents, casting directors, managers, etc. to attend the performance. Following the performance, the actors host a reception wheree they pitch in and buy finger food, wine and cheese, creating an informal atmosphere in which to mingle among the invited guests and talk to them about what they've seen.

It's a great way for an actor to show his stuff and potentially gain representation.

Directors look for two things: talent and whether or not you look the part.

QUESTION: how long do auditions take?

Answer
Darren,

Auditions take as long as necessary for a director to determin if you are right for the part or not.  They can be as short as 2 minutes, and they can run as long as 30 minutes. Some actors are called back to audition 3, 4, 5 times before a decision is made.
