Expert: DJ Murphy - 3/4/2008

I recently purchased a painting in a second hand shop signed Kloton, P.  I have found 3 cases where a painting has been auctioned on the internet but can no find info. regarding the artist.  Can someone help me?  It is a still life with fruit and water glass and brass? pitcher.

Hello.............haven't any professional knowledge about P. Kloton, and like you have found some info in google search....the good news [if you got a great deal on the painting] is that auctions usually mean the artist has value.  This is one I found in my search:

The only other suggestions is to check the yellow pages for art appraisals........and/or call William Doyle Galleries in NYC and ask for the staff in charge of oil paintings. They might be able to point you in the right direction.
