Question
Hi DJ Murphy,

Can you tell me if it's possible for an artist to sign with more than gone galler, or can't an artist sign with more than one?  Would there be a conflict of interest?

Many thanks,
Davina,
United Kingdom

Answer
Hello....nothing wrong with being represented by more than one gallery...as long as the first gallery has no restrictions in writing with you.  I would be careful however not to be "represented" by two galleries in the same geographic area.  Most artists are not necessarily "represented"...but only have works in a gallery for a particular show.

With the advent of the internet, your works might be posted by one gallery....so it is better to check up front with the galleries in which you have an interest.

All the best,
