Question
Hi-

i began making stained glass, which expanded to fused and small blown glass, which somehow got me into marble mosaic (this just recently).

my father (a potter for 30 yrs) says Get In the Galleries, but he of course doesn't want to do the work of finding and contacting the galleries.. how does one find a gallery? what do galleries look for in exhibitors?

i guess my question is how might i do the work i enjoy and not be quite so hungry?

website is down at the moment, but if curious here you go:

Answer
Hello Leslie,

The $64,000 question [a very old quiz show]...........

Anyway....best thing to do is to contact a few galleries in your city or town.....talk to the director [not the staff].....and see what they have to offer.  Most art gallery directors are always looking for new artists...and especially if they are marketable.
Also...check GalleryGuide.com  and ArtCaldendar.com [check websites]

These might give you some good leads......as they are art business oriented.

All the best in your endeavors....
