Answer
Hello there!

Just as a small correction, I'm a ma'am, not a sir. :) But no worries.

Now, question #1, yes, it's absolutely possible to not have realized a talent until the age of 24. Some are aware of an artistic talent early, and some don't even really start to explore or realize artistic skills until much, much later in life.

#2. Talent is what you make of it. Just because you enjoy color more than drawing doesn't change anything. If you love art and love expressing yourself creatively, then you're good.

Without seeing a sample of your artwork, I wouldn't be able to give you a category name to your style.

#3. There are so many art supplies. Over time, you are going to want to try a wide variety so that you can find out what you like. I suggest getting a small pencil set with different levels (lighter and darker) of graphite, and a good eraser. A charcoal pencil is also a good idea. Great for sketching. Also try some drawing pens of different thicknesses as well. As to color-related supplies, grab what interests you. Acrylic is the easiest paint to get used to. Oil is great if you want to experiment with color over time since it dries slowly. Dry or oil pastels are great for quick experiments with color and for different effects. Watercolor, colored pencils, and markers are also options.

As to your drawing surface, start off with a sketch book. That way you can carry it anywhere you go and have plenty of pages to experiment with your new art supplies.

Hope this helps you out!
Best of luck,
Gianina
