Hello:
I'd like to know if you have any information about foundations, institutions and organizations that award grants, fellowships, and other funding to black and minority cartoonists and comic book creators/writers/artists? I'm also interested in publishing and distributing my own comic book. Please let me know. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Mr. Jason Goldman

Hello Mr. Goldman,
The only reference I can offer is a book published by the Council on Foundations [offices in NYC] which lists foundations and the the types of grants they make. I would think you could look at a copy in your local public library [if you live in an urban area]. You might also check with any foundation related to or sponosred by newspapers.
There is a cartoon/comic book museum in Port Chester, NY, which you might also contact for information.
Good luck!

AnswerHello......not sure if this place is still in operation.....I lost track of it some years ago.....but you might want to contact this organization and ask them if they have a contact number. Also you might try keywords on "google"......which may lead you to sources.
