Question
Hi, I am a photographer and am interested in submitting my photos to different galleries for an exhibit. I'm not naive- I know it's next to impossible, but I want to try.  I am a complete novice and would like it if you could tell me, step by step, how to submit my photos to different galleries; I'm starting completely form scratch. Thanks so much for your time!

Answer
Hello......you ask the million dollar question.
Here is the "free" answer.

First you need to determine which galleries exhibit photographs.......many [most] do not......as they aren't commercially viable.  Check out galleryguide.com on the net.....review the galleries listed...see if any accept fine art photographs.  Do more research.......check artcalendar.com  which has listings for "call for artists".

Depending where you live.....visit one or two galleries....ask them about their policies.....if they can make any suggestions to you.

Finally......keep plugging along.......if all else fails...do your own exhibition at a local library, grange hall, chamber of commerce meeting room, church.....etc.  Put it together, publicize it, invite a wide list of people to attend a reception...use one of the internet post card developers......do it up right.

Good luck,
