QuestionHow do I launch myself to be able to best sell my artwork?
AnswerHello Ms. Quesinberry,
The $64,000 question.
First it would be helpful if you develop a website....nothing fancy but something you can draw interest from potential galleries and art buyers.
Second, have you sold any works....if yes, then put together your portfolio and schlep it around to galleries in your area....first making phone or letter contact alerting them that you will be interested in discussing your art works with them and the possibility of exhibiting same.
Third.....if all else fails, go to a local library, bank, fraternal org., etc. and see if they have exhibit space and if yes, then see if you can produce your own weekend art show. Promote it thru the news media [write a good news release about two weeks before the show with photo'
s of your works] send copies of the newsrelease to galleries, and to all your friends, associates, family, etc. Send a broadcast email to your email list. Do some simple posters, put them in supermarket bulletin boards....etc., etc. Promote the hell [heck] out of the show.
You can read Art Calendar Magazine on articles on how best to promote yourself. They have a website, and your local library might have copies of this magazine.
Good luck!
