Dear Mr. Murphy,

I am an artist in Chicago, IL and lately have been entertaining the idea of getting an art agent.  I am tired of the rejection letters/emails, so I felt if someone who knew the market better attempted, I might have some look.  Only problem is where do I start looking for one?

My suggestion is for you to speak with either other artist's in chicago or go to a few art galleries there and ask around...

No agent's names come to mind....but here is a website on artist reps

You might also check Art Calendar magazine.  artcalendar.com which is a good publication for artists and they might have had an article written about this same subject.

p.s. Rejections are part of the business of being an artist.......and/or no responses from galleries that you have contacted.  Perhaps you should set up your own website....and promote yourself from there...
