Question
I don't know if you're the person to ask but I'm starting with you as I'm at a loss. I did a painting of an old log cabin hotel in Montana several years ago and gave the painting to my brother for his wedding. The landmark has since burned and I would like to have some posters or large prints done to give to certain members of the family that owned it. Price is a consideration. Can you direct me as to where I might start? What are my choices versus quality?
I'll let them frame. Thanks for your time. Debi

PS. I love the painting and secretly wish I hadn't given it away.

Answer
Hello Debi,

Not knowing where you live.....here are two suggestions.
First you can have the art work scanned at a commercial printing house.....if that isn't feasible....you can take slide or photographic print....scan it and send it to a printing house that reproduces in something call giclee
[pronounced gee clay].  Here is an 800 # 579 8964...for a firm called Harvest Productions...I am NOT recommending them...just a suggestion as a source.  Another is ArtPress....800 254 5702  They can do something call "iris" printmaking.  Start there if they can't help...perhaps they can point you in the right direction. Good luck,
