Question
Hello,

Is it unusual for a Private Investigator to bypass and Attorney and work with the client directly for criminal defense purposes? and if so, is it unreasonable to ask for a retainer from the client? Also, how does an Attorney bill a client for PI work? What is my best model of business when working with attorneys as a Private Investigator? Any info is appreciated.
