Careers: Chemistry/ammonium hydroxide


I was wondering the energy next to separate ammonia from water. So let say how many kwh would i need to separate 1000 cf of ammonia from ammonium hydroxide. I know this answer depends an lot of varibles, but i would really like any information. thank you

This type of bulk industrial process is performed almost exclusively through steam separation.  So effectively it is just a little more than the cost to boil water, assuming we are not factoring in facility operations. Hear is a link to a pretty good 'intro to ammonia scrubbing':
