Question
QUESTION: Hello,
I hav  recently given an aptitude test for BBA/BCA along with M.Tech for a college. Among them, I dont think i hav a fair bit of chance for M.Tech cuz....i performed really bad in Phy..which can bring my percentage to around 40-50 %. But my BBA/BCA paper was quite nice. Since i am brought up in a family of engineers, I hav absolutely no i idea about the computer line as such. Please note that i hav been studdin with Comp Sc. as my subject for classes 11 and 12....so I hav a gud ground for C++ and all the office utilities ,for that matter. I hav also used RDBMS for the last term.
I would be highly obliged if you threw some light on the kind of studding i hav to do if i take up MCA. How is it diff from engineering? Are the career opportunities as rewarding as any engineering line?

Thanks in advance.

ANSWER: Job(s) are only as rewarding as the person who accepts it.  Some people love going to work, while others do not.

This is something you have to decide based on various career path the each can take.  But the reward is based upon many things like your interest in the career, your talent, dedication, and luck.  There is no black and white answer here.

Good Luck,

Leigh

QUESTION: Right, but then can u just tell me what sort of things lie at the end of the tunnel if i take up a course in BCA?

Answer
Hi Sourya,

Assuming that you decide to stick to the fields that are related, the best positions you could achieve are CTO in large corporation, CEO in tech organizations, Senior Business Analyst, technical evangelist.  Those are some of the top jobs in the industry that is specific to the major.  Obviously, there is far more then degrees to get to those roles and there are millions of jobs that a person can take between them with varying titles.  (Project manager, product manager, and various titles in front of it like associate, senior, principle, manager of, director of, vice president of, executive vice president of, regional director, and so forth).

But I think most people see themselves working in the IT segment of a large corporation with a business twist to it.  Like product manager who interacts with customers, more then say a developer who writes code.

Good Luck,

Leigh
