Question Hi,
I am an international student going to be a junior in Computer Science this fall. I am studying CS only because its job market is flourishing and as an international student, I have high scope of getting a job. According to some research I did, international students have the best scope in Software industries and universities. But I am not entirely convinced with programming. This is my second summer interning as a programmer and I do not want to work as a SDTE or any software engineering position. I am more interested in minoring in Business and getting a job that has a little bit of management involved as well. The market for Engineers with a business background is very promising in the middle-east but I have no idea about the value of such a degree in the U.S.
I have three questions: In the U.S - What jobs are open for as a CS major with a BA minor? How is the job market like for students with this degree? As an international student, what scope do I have to get a job with this degree?
I appreciate your time and efforts.
Regards,
Fauzia Lala
Answer Lots of companies are not sponsoring H1B visa as economy is not in a great shape. Unless you have experience, or graduated from an exceptional US Uni, it will be difficult. I would look into state of immigration situation first. Look at all the jobs and see if they will accept applicant with H1B status.
