Question
sir,
Iam an engineering student in india and iam very hard working and gifted in anything related to numbers or computer programing. i also have excellent communication skills in english and hindi. at college however i have plenty of free time and 24 hour access to internet. i feel very unproductive and i wish to be employed in some manner and be put to some kind of task. i wonder if there is any job that can make use of the services of a person like me. money is not my concern- it only that the job must be creative and constructive or atleast occupying. also it must be something that i can do just by sitting in front of my computer.can you suggest the way that i should proceed to get a job like that?

Answer
I can't answer this question in a good way because I am not from India.  But you should try a site called rentacoder.com.  I heard the bids are cheap by US standard and may for India, but you may be able to get some job.

If you don't care about money, the alternative is for you to invest in your future by participating in gnu projects and becoming an active member.  This is a long term investment because if you become an active member of something that takes off, you could be recognized in a book and it can help you.  But this often requires one to be very active.  If you are not sure where to look, try looking at sourceforge and look at top projects and see which ones are of interest to you, and are in need of help.

Good Luck,

L.
