I am looking to build time as you suggested in freight companies.I have been searching on line for about two weeks.could you suggest what freight companies I would be able seat right seat until  I reach my 1200 hours.I'll go anywhere.

Gerald Lang, new york

ANSWER: Hi Gerald,

Try Flightexpress in Orlando, Florida. I used to work for them a long time ago and they have very good maintenance on their airplanes. The minimum is 1200 hrs. but when I was there they also had Pilots with 500 hrs. TT to fly Traffic Watch in the Orlando area and once you got your 1200 hrs for FAR 135 they moved you over to the Freight side.
Their Website is www.flightexpress.com. I wil also talk to some friends of mine and see what else is out there right now with less than 1200 TT.

QUESTION: thanks H2,I am 45 years old and making a huge transition in a career change.I need to build time very quick even if I have to pay a fee. I have tried flight express and there application states they do not take SIC or loaders and you need 1200 hrs.Any companies you may know of in the carribean or north east.I tried Airnet,Air cargo, capeair,Ramair, flight safety, airnow and I forget quite a few more.

thanks Gerald

Answer
Hi,

Unfortunately I have been out of the freight business for a long time and these companies come and go. All the ones you mentioned I thought off, so that won't be any help. You have chosen a very tough time in aviation and even beginner flying jobs are hard to come by. Consider also Flight instructing, Pipeline flying, Banner towing (especially in Florida), Fishery Flying and visit your local airport for anyone needing a Safety Pilot.

Good Luck,

H2
