Question
Hi David,

I've long dreamed of becoming a professional pilot -- not aiming for a major airline, but in a capacity that will allow me to earn a respectable living and enjoy the job. I am now in a position to finance the training. My concern is that at age 39 it's too late for me to start. Are there viable career options for pilots entering the industry at such an age?

Answer
HI Lewis,
I guess the best way to address your question is to tell you about a friend of mine. He started at age 45.  Within a couple of years and dedication he became a corporate pilot.  Now, in addition to that position, He is chief of his company's flight dept and a FAA Designated examiner.
No, it is not too late to start.  There are many different options open to you depending on your interest.  Whether it is as a Flight Instructor, Corporate pilot, Banner Flights, Charter Pilot etc.

Good Luck, Go for it and stay in touch!
Dave
