Careers: Flying & Aviation/Vision Requirements

Question
Do you have to have uncorrected 20/20 vision for initial employment at a major us airline.  Also, I'm 41 with a private pilot certificate.  Any chance in your opinion?

Answer
Hi Matt,
There is some leeway in the vision requirements.  Your best bet is to check with your AME to see the requiremnts for an ATP ticket. He/she will know the latest and is best qualified to discuss with you.
Now for your age, Go for it! There is a shortage and the commuters as well as airlines have relaxed a lot and are scurrying to find pilots.
Good Luck,
Dave
