Question
I have a herniated disc (L4/L5).  I take no meds, i have no pain, it's just there.  Does that excluded me from obtaining a commercial helicopter pilot license?

Answer
That is excellent question. It is normally requirement to check or ingiunal hernia on medical exam, if it is compressed. In that light I would say if you have current compression on L4/L5 disks, that can definetelly efect getting even third class medical exam. In any way I would suggest you to contact local AME (Aviation Medical examiner) and get streight answer from them.
