Question
HI
I have some questions that have been concerning me.
Do you have to know french fluently for becoming a flight attendant?
and is there an age limit to when you can apply?

Answer
Rachael

Whether or not you need to know French to be a flight attendantis entirely dependant upon which airline you are applying with.

Air France? Air Canada? Air Tahiti Nui? Most surely you do.
WHERE you are and WHICH airline you are aiming for flying with will determine your answer. Every airline lists their F/A hiring requirements on the careers section of their website. Some may want German, Spanish and many even have no second language requirement at all (although it is beneficial). Go to the airlines you would like to fly for and read their prerequisites. You will find all the details you need to know there.

Age limit?
In the United States, no there is no max 'age limit' (discrimintation for hiring based on age is illegal). In other countries, there may very well be but as an American I cannot comment on airline careers outside the USA. As far as a minimum age, depending on the airline it is often 18 or 21 depending on the carriers alchohol policy. Again, any age limitations will be specified in the airlines careers section.

Hope this helps,
Dottie
