Question
I would like to thank you for answering our questions!

You indicated in a response that you keep a database of all scholarships offered for women pilots.  I am applying to San Juan College in Farmington, NM to begin flight school in August and would appreciate any scholarship direction you could offer.

I have recently joined Women in Aviation Int'l and I will apply for their scholarships in December also.  Thank you!

Many of the scholarshiups in my database are given by the Ninety-Nines, the International Organization of Women Pilots. They are often one time awards for $500-$2,000 to help defray training costs. Since many are offered by local 99s chapters, they are restricted geographically. My list is on the web here- http://www.flightscholarship.info

You should also consider membership in the Ninety-nines. After a year of membership you can apply for a scholarship that will pay for an entire certificate or rating.

Another benefit of the 99s is their e-networking forum. They have opne for Pro Pilots and we can all surely provide much insight on your career questions.

I am also a charter member of Women In Aviation. They are a great organization as well, however for new pilots I feel the 99s is a much better resource for mentorship and scholarships (WAI awards are mainly for the very advanced).

Good Luck!
Dorothy
