I'm desperate to be a commercial at any cost and i have shortlisted the flying school and all preperations are underway but im a bit worried about my medical fitness so can you please clarify the following for me ?

1. I had a hernia surgery 15 yrs ago , but now im totally fine so will that be a problem during flying ?

2. I have eye floaters on both my eyes but other than that i have a healthy vision and my doc tells me to just ignore it , but will the aviation doctors accept this condition ?

3. i've lost 25 pounds in 3 months and sucessfully brought my BMI to the "overweight zone" from the "OBESE zone " and now have a BMI of 28 and i'm 6 feet 4 inches tall , so will i be allowed to fly ?

Answer
jason,
1, hernia is not problem. On aviation exam you can have hernia even without treatment as long as it is not encapsulated.
2. floaters are no problem too, good to pass first class medical exam
3. weight is OK too,
You do not have to warry, Jason everything is OK regarding your medical, you can pass first class of medical exam (airline pilot).
My answer is good as long as yo applying for aviation medical exam in USA. No info if you are in other country.

Good Luck
