Question
I'm currently a junior at Tennesse. State University in Nashville.  I have a GPA of 3.0. I'm very interested to intern for the summer in the areas of aviation. I live in the Washington D.C areas. Can you guide me in this area

Answer
Hi, Marcus:

Thanks for your question, I will try to assist!

There are a number of organizations in the Washington, D. C. area that have had summer interns in the past.  I am not sure if they will have them this year, but, it is worth checking;

Federal Aviation Administration at www.faa.gov

National Transportation Safety Board at www.ntsb.gov

National Business Aviation Association at www.nbaa.org

Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association at www.aopa.org

National Air Transportation Association at www.nata.aero

Air Transport Association at www.airlines.org

American Association of Airport Executives at www.aaae.org

And, there is a Student Jobs program at the Washington Metropolitan Airports Authority....check it out at:

www.metwashairports.com/careers/open_positions

Also, the American Association of Airport Executives has a list of internships that is available to Student Members of AAAE (to join, it costs $40 a year for a student).

I wish you the best of luck!

Sincerely,
