Question QUESTION: Hi David
I am B.E Electronics and Communication Engg from India, presently working in a software company for the past 6 months.I am interested in pursuing MBA degree related to Aviation field.
Questions:
1.Which course has the best features, Aviation Management or Airport and Airline Management?
2.Can please tell me the Universities providing these courses in India?
Yours truly,
Senthil
ANSWER: Hi,
Thank you for your question, I will try to assist!
With regard to your first question, I am only aware of one master's degree in aviation offered in India and that it at the University of Petroleum and Energy Studies, Centre for Aviation Studies in Dehradun, India. Their website is http://cas.upes.ac.in
They offer an MBA in Aviation Management. Your only other option would be to do a web-based (on-line) degree from one of two US universities, Embry Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Florida or Daniel Webster University in Nashua, New Hampshire. Actually, there are very few such programs available anywhere and these are the three that I see the most advertising and publicity for.
As far as choosing among these three programs, I would look at how they are accredited, what their faculty qualifications are (particularly in aviation, if that is where you want to end up) and what type of education that you value (face-to-face or on-line), and, then, of course, the cost.
Best wishes to you in your decision,
David A. NewMyer

Answer Hi,
As I said in my earlier response, the only other school for sure that I am aware of that offers what you want is Daniel Webster University in Nashua, New Hampshire.
Somewhat related degrees are offered by:
University of Tennessee at Knoxville: MBA in Aerospace
Master of Public Administration in Aviation (and MPA degree is devoted more to working in government service in an aviation-related position), offered by:
Southern Illinois University Carbondale
University of Nebraska at Omaha
Masters degree in Airport Management and Planning:
Middle Tennessee State University
Florida Institute of Technology
I hope that this additional list of degrees is helpful to you!
